Arcbeetle (アークビートル) is a KBT-type Medabot that first appeared in Medarot R.
Description[]
Arcbeetle is a bright red, bulky, two-legged Medabot based on a Hercules beetle with high firepower and agility. Arcbeetle has two large protrusions on his forehead and chest representing the Hercules beetle's horns. The horns work like a Railgun, charging a large amount of energy between them to release a powerful beam. Each of Arcbeetle's arms have three barrels pointing in different directions, which he can use to fire energy blasts individually or from all at once. Arcbeetle's feet also have three barrels each, which presumably are what allow him to dash sideways and backwards in the anime episode X-treme Measures.
Arcbeetle is among the most popular Medabots in the Medabots franchise.[1][2]
In the games[]
As a KBT-type Medabot, Arcbeetle specializes in shooting skills, his arms having the Rifle and Gatling attacks. However, his head part, Prominence, is not compatible with the same medal his other parts are in most games. Nonetheless, Prominence's Beam attack is still powerful enough to deal an impressive amount of damage. Prominence has four uses in Medarot R and Medabots Infinity, two in Medabots AX and Medarot G, and one use in other appearances.
In Medarot 7, his actions were upgraded to Heavy Rifle (renamed as Power Rifle in Medarot 9), Mega Gatling and Hyper Beam.
Medarot R[]
Arcbeetle is obtainable from Medarot R Parts Collection by fighting Hikaru, who is ranked opponent number 1.
Medarot 3[]
A trio of Arcbeetles appear as the Phantom Renegade's Medabots after the player defeats Black Devil.
Medarot 4[]
Along with Kantaroth and Gorem-2, Arcbeetle appears as one of the Medabots controlled by Rintaro.
[]
Arcbeetle is used by Henry when under his Phantom Renegade guise, which is only fought once, during the postgame. Thus, the player is only given the one chance to obtain one of his parts.
Medabots AX[]
Arcbeetle is obtained after defeating Seaslug for the first time.
Medabots Infinity[]
Arcbeetle is unlocked by inserting Medabots: Metabee Version on the Game Boy Advance connected through GameCube Link Cable.
Medarot 7[]
Arcbeetle's actions were upgraded to Heavy Rifle, Mega Gatling and Hyper Beam.
Medarot 8[]
Arcbeetle's legs gained the effect Breakneck.
Medarot 9[]
Arcbeetle's head is now considered a Heavy part, and his legs have a Heavy Limit of 1 to support it.
Medarot S: Unlimited Nova[]
Arcbeetle is available on the gacha periodically. The effect from his legs changed to G Loader.
In the manga[]
In the Japan-only manga Medaroter Rintarou! Medarot R, Rintaro obtains Arcbeetle parts as an upgrade for Kantaroth after losing Kantaroth's original parts in a Robattle against Ikki, but kept his name as Kantaroth after placing his Medal on the new body.
Kantaroth (Arcbeetle) briefly appears alongside Rintaro in the Medabots manga.
In the anime[]
Arcbeetle is the Medabot commanded by Space Medafighter X, and first appeared in the episode Enter Rintaro. Arcbeetle is proficient in both long and short range attacks which are further augmented by his strong spirit and bond with his Medafighter. Arcbeetle is seen to possess a damaged Kabuto Medal (previously used on a Metabee) that is also rare, enabling him to use the Medaforce. Although he says little during his appearances, he is strong and heroic, loyal to his Medafighter and fiercely resists criminals such as the Rubberobo Gang.
Arcbeetle possesses two different special moves. The first, his "Tri-Cannon" attack, allows him to blast energy shots at his opponents in three different directions via his right and left arm parts, Ignition and Explode respectively. Arcbeetle's preferred finishing attack, however, utilizes his head part, Prominence. Using Prominence requires Arcbeetle to charge up for the subsequent blast by unlocking what is presumed to be an array of solar energy, as Space Medafighter X says he uses the power of the sun. While he's charging, he cannot move and is therefore vulnerable to any strikes made by an enemy. Once the power-up is complete, Arcbeetle can then utilize his Head part to deliver his enemies one devasting, concentrated blast of energy.
In the dub, his model number is KBT-11220-2, and his Medabot Vital Stats says that his specialty is fireballs.
Cards[]
Arcbeetle has a rare card in the Medabots Trading Card Game booster set. Like Metabee and Kantaroth, Arcbeetle attacks with a "Piercing Shooting Attack", which allows him to damage Medabots to the side of the target if the target is destroyed.
