Sharkkan, known in Japanese as Yuchitang[1] (ユイチイタン Yuichiitan), also known as Yui-chi-tan,[2] is an SAK-type Medabot that first appeared in the original Medarot game.
Description[]
Sharkkan is a shark-like Medabot designed for aquatic battles, with a long flexible tail in the place of legs to allow him to maneuver underwater. His arms are stylized to look like shark jaws, and can be used to bite at opponents or fire off gravity-based attacks.
His Japanese name appears to be derived from yùh-chi gāng (魚翅湯), shark fin soup in Chinese.
In the games[]
Sharkkan is an aquatic-type Medabot that specializes in "Break" attacks. His parts have the "Gravity" attribute, making him highly compatible with the Bear Medal.
Medarot[]
The player first encounters Sharkkan in a battle with Reika (one of the leaders of the Rubberobo Gang) in the harbor town area near the beginning of the game.
Later on, his parts can be obtained from random battles or bought from a convenience store outside the Medarot Laboratory.
Medarot 2[]
Sharkkan's parts are not normally obtainable in Medarot 2, and must be transferred over from the first Medarot.
Medabots (GBA)[]
Sharkkan makes a reappearance in the remake, where he's used by Medafighters in Mt. Odoro and the Kodine Kingdom.
Medabots AX[]
Sharkkan parts are available in the Metabee Version.
Medarot 7[]
His model number changed to SAK00.
Medarot 8[]
His leg parts gained the effect Accel.
Medarot 9[]
His leg parts gained a Heavy Limit of 1.
In the anime[]
In the anime.
A Sharkkan owned by Ryan fought Metabee in the episode The Old Man and the Sea Monster. Due to getting seasickness, Metabee was unable to defeat Sharkkhan in a submission battle, which caused him to lose his legs. Sharkkan was also part of a plot that involved operating a sea monster costume with Flatstick and Giggly Jelly.
Following the plot being exposed, Metabee fought Sharkkan again using the legs of Tentaclam that he got from the Old Master of the Sea. With some wisdom from the old man on how a shark strikes, Metabee was able to defeat Sharkkan and win his legs back.
His model type is SAK-19111 in the English dub.
