Sumilidon, known in Japanese as Smilodonad (スミロドナッド), is an STG-type Medabot that first appeared in Medarot 2.

Description[]

Sumilidon is a Medabot that resembles a sabertooth tiger. As such he has his Flexor Sword arm part, whose Sword attack deals a large amount of damage. The Straw Hammer is great for speed attacks, but its Hammer is somehow weaker than the other arm. The head part, Hunter, allows Sumilidon to set Shot Traps to protect himself from Shooting attacks. His Japanese name and his English name are derived from "Smilodon", which is the genus of the sabertooth tiger.

In the games[]

In Medarot 2, its GBA remake, and Medarot R, Sumilidon is more compatible with the Kuwagata Medal.

Medarot 2[]

Sumilidon appears as Koji's first Medabot in the Kabuto Version. Later, Koji backs him up with other Medabots like Rockflower.

In Medarot 2 Parts Collection, Sumilidon, along with Warbandit, is one of the two first Medabots the player can have.

Medabots (GBA)[]

As a remake of Medarot 2, Sumilidon is still Koji's main Medabot in the Metabee Version.

Medarot R[]

He is obtainable from Medarot R Parts Collection by fighting Koji, who is ranked opponent number 3.

Medarot 4[]

The only way to acquire Sumilidon is through an auction in Medaropolis, where they are also auctioning a King Medal. Koji is also seen with his Sumilidon stored in his room, as he is now using Exor. He is a Kabuto Version exclusive.

Medabots AX[]

Koji has Sumilidon as the leader of his team.

Medarot 8[]

His model number changed to STG00, his right arm's Sword attack was replaced by Charge Blade, and his leg parts gained the effect Rumbling. He is only available as DLC.

Medarot 9[]

His leg parts now have a Heavy Limit of 1, and the effect from his legs changed to Flanking. He is a Kabuto Version exclusive.

Medarot S: Unlimited Nova[]

The attack from his right arm changed to Claw, and the effect from his legs changed to Bloodstain. He is a rare gacha reward.

In the anime[]

Sumilidon

Sumilidon is Koji Karakuchi's Medabot, and Metabee's rival. He is not much of a talker, usually only speaking when spoken to or when it is extremely important. He is a strong contender. During Me and My Shadow Sword, Koji received training from Space Medafighter X to learn a special technique named the Shadow Sword (シャドウソード) for Sumilidon's Flexor Sword part, improving Sumilidon's reaction time.

Sumilidon is loyal to Koji and will always follow his orders, to the point of going berserk alongside Koji in Dance with the Mantis. He will also not act on his own even if he wants, requesting Koji to give him orders several times during the Robattle against Team U.S.A. in the World Robattle Cup until Koji snapped out of his gloomy mood.

Despite not having a Rare Medal, Sumilidon gained the ability to use the Medaforce during the aforementioned match against Team U.S.A. in The Medaforce Within. Dr. Aki analyzed Sumilidon's Medal and confirmed that he had a common clone Medal. Dr. Aki had a theory that Sumilidon might have had some ancestral connections to the Rare Medals, giving him the Medaforce, but this is just a theory. However, this might have something to do with the fact any Medal can use different Medaforces in the games.

In the anime, Sumilidon's head part functions like chaff, only working against missiles. Sumilidon's model type is STG-19207 in the English dub. Koji's Sumilidon is voiced by Satoshi Tsuruoka in the Japanese version.

Cards[]

Sumilidon has a card in the Medabots Trading Card Game booster set. He attacks with a basic grappling attack.
